This beautiful throw (or large scarf if you prefer) is made of mohair, considered one of the oldest fiber textiles in existence. Loved for its shine, warmth, and silk-like hand- feel, mohair is also suitable for people with sensitive skin as the wool is not itchy. Mohair, AKA the diamond fiber, is a luxury fiber, similar to cashmere.

Our throws are hand-knitted by rural women from the Xhosa tribe in South Africa -where Nelson Mandela was born. These women are hard-working, strong, and resilient. Mothers and daughters work together to provide their children with education and a better way of life.

Preferred method:
*Hand wash following these instructions;

1.Soak in tepid water using mild detergent recommended for washing wool or even hair shampoo.

2.Very gently agitate by hand to dislodge dirt particles.

3.Rinse in clean, cool water.

4.Hang or lay flat to dry (mohair dries quite quickly).

DO NOT TUMBLE DRY. DRY CLEANING IS OK AS WELL.
